Long Necked Cards

It is with a very heavy heart I make my final post for Love Bug Creations.  I have so appreciated being a part of this creative team.  I have learned so much from each and every fellow member.  Kim and Pam run this company like true professionals - and that is a lovely gift in the craft world.  I am so grateful for all they have done to promote me and my brand.
I wish I had the time to give them and their amazing product the attention it deserves but I am not going to pursue another term.  I will miss you all!!!
OK - enough sniffling... on to the post...  I am giving you a twofer this week.  Same great stamp from  Paper Trey Ink, but one card with Simply Black Rumple Ribbon and the other with Momma's Mesh.  I really like how the mesh repeats that 'girafee feel'

Sweet Needle Book

HOW FUN IS THIS!!!!  This is a one on one swap with the Marie Antoinette group and I just loved making this for my partner.  It measures 4.5 inches tall by 4 inches wide when closed.... when closed with that BEAUTIFUL blue Rumple Ribbon from the new spring collection.  I  just love how versatile this product it is.  I really use it on 90% of my projects!
Here are a few pics - but for a better look, stop by the Video.  To help secure that large piece of lace I added some buttons and a stick pin.
Inside, I made a little pocket for some treats.  That Momma's Mesh always comes in handy for pockets.  And a isn't that rick rack HUGE!!  I liked the layering of the two.
Here I stitched in a few pieces of felt to hold the needles and pins.  On the blue page I added a little piece of lace and I just love how pretty and simple that looks!

We love hops and birthdays!

If you are paying attention, here with the Lovebug Creative team... we love hops and birthdays!!
And our Kimi- who makes it all happen for us.
I made a 5x5 easel card to help her celebrate.  I hope she has a fabulous day!!
I used Momma's mesh in black and the Hugs color of the sheer ribbon.  I have found that to be the perfect match to most G45 paper collections.

I think you hopped here from Stephanie
But if you started in the middle, please give all my CT girls some love on their blogs, too!

French Country Treat Bag

So this week, a boy made dinner for me!  Long story short - once upon a time I dated a nutcase who wouldn't let me in his home.  Since then, I don't give up the good stuff until I see the house.
So, the current gnetleman asked me - oh so tenderly.... ummmm, when?  I said, I must see your home.  This was Sunday... he made us dinner Tuesday!  LOL
I knew he went to a lot of trouble planning and cooking so I wanted to take him a little treat ( a martini shaker - he doesn't drink them, but he makes them for me.  I rightly guessed he didn't own one....he does now!)
You know I love a decked out bag for gifts, and he was no exception.
That layer of black Momma's Mesh really helps to keep it masculine, don't ya think!  And of course a little red rumple, too!

Pretty bags

I just love pretty gift bags.  For me, the making of the bag is part of the gift itself.  Remember the boat card from a few weeks ago - this is the gift bag that went with it.  The parents are from India, but their little bundle was born here in Chicago... so I bought him a little Cubs outfit.  Regardless of his heritage - he is a Chicago Native too.
I used a doily, which I almost never do for boys, but a baby can handle it :) Another one of those dimensional stickers.  That was layered on some paper from my stash. Then I made a super fun bow out of Momma's Mesh and secured it with some Caddy Blue Rumple Ribbon Get yours here

My Lost Shaker of Salt

I just love that Buffett song, don't you!!  If I lost a salt shaker I am pretty sure they would look something like this!!
I joined a swap on Your Paper Pantry for altered salt shakers and I am so glad I did!  I started with my Lovebug drawer of pretty and just had some fun!  The one below has some crushed rumple ribbon (I said cherished in the video... I was wrong).  I added a metal filagree piece that I love.  Next is a pretty ribbon fashioned into a flower/rosette with a paper flower in the center.  Then I hung that cool TH piece from the side.

This one has some pretties from the holiday collection.  Merry Mesh on the bottom layer, Holiday Grunge is that beautiful purple/blue/pink rumple ribbon and some charms and prettys to bling it up.  I made a video to give you a closer look.  Hope you enjoy!  Pick up your Lovebug Goodies Here

Momma's Mesh and Rumple Ribbon on a Tea Party Mini

Another Momma's Mesh project!  I used the DCWV Garden Tea Party paper line to make a mini for the tea party I had from a few other posts.
I love how the mesh adds real texture but not bulk for those who aren't crafters.
Take a peek at the video for more details

Santa's Elf is Hard at Work!!

A certain smeone asked for handmade gifts for CHristmas.. This same certain someone recently had a facebook rant on the cost of greeting cards.  OK, twist my arm...  I will make you some :)
Here are a pair I made with Momma's Mesh and SU's Stipple Butterfly.
I embossed the image in clear and then I applied various shades of SU ink with my blender pen for the pretty water color effect.
I just can't get enough of how the mesh adds dimension to a project.  Hope she likes 'em!

Tea Favors

Happy Monday!!
Remember that invite a made a few weeks ago for a tea party?  Well, they liked the invites so much they asked me to make some favors and thank you notes.  So I was off to my crafting table, starting with some Lovebug Product first, of course!!
I made a little package for the tea bag and wrapped it up with Momma's Mesh and other sweet treats.

I started by measuring the tea bag and it fit a 3x4 square with a little over a 1/4 inch all the way around.  So, I cut strips four inches wide by 10 inches long and scored them at 3 and 7.  I wanted the tea bag to show inside a bit and have a flap over the top.

Next, I cut some SU Designer Paper just an /8 of an inch smaller and layered two different patterns for the top and the botton.  I added a half oval punch as a 'finger pull' on the bottom.  The top flap has that cute Tea Riffic seniment from Fiskars layered with my SU punches.
For the bottom I knew I wanted to give it a 'wrapped up' feel... so I grabbed some Momma's Mesh.  I love how that brown looks on the pretty orange.  Next went a simple satin ribbon.
I added some flowers and a button with twine as a focal point.  I hot glued this on for two reasons - 1 - I needed something hold the weight of that rosette and 2 - it would seep in through the mesh making a good strong connection to the base.  This allowed me to use the rossette as the closure.  See it pokes up just enough to keep the top flap down.

I am pretty happy with how these turned out.  I think they will bring the tea theme but not take up much space on the table.  Don't forget to hop to Lovebug Creations and pick up some o your own goodies!!
Look - I finally did a video again!!  HERE

My New Favorite Wine Treat!

I am having so much fun making these bottle hangers.  Since they don't have to fit in an envelope they can hang over and be as thick as I can possible make them!  This was hung from a bottle of bubbles (would have been nice to take a pic, huh!)
I don't do a lot of steam punk but I had a paper pack still and I thought it would be a perfect mesh (pun intended!) with Momma's Mesh.  The flap is tucked back but it just 3 inches longer, rounded on the end with a big circle punch to hang it from the bottle.
I am on the Monday Mesh team over at Lovebug and super excited for this to be my first project.  As usual... Let's start at the bottom.  Way under there is a blue/green sheet from the collection to just be a 'base'.  Then I picked an image I really liked and trimmed/layered it off the right side.

Before I adhered it down I wrapped it with some 'Where's Everybuggy' ribbon and hung a TH trinket pin with some charms from my stash.
Next FLOWERS!  Petaloo in perfectly coordinating colors.  I took one of each set and painted with gold dauber.  I needed some bling ;)
Finally... to totally make this work - I added a strip of mesh in the lower left hand corner.  Topped that with a smaller image from the 8x8 paper pad.  A few random gears and Viola - A beautiful way to give a bottle.

Happy Birthday Christine!!

Kanban are some of my most hoarded craft supplies and I pulled them out for Christine here!  I layered a damask from Kanban an one of their awesome toppers to start this birthday card for a fellow LoveBug team member.
Then, I added a bit of Momma's Mesh on the top to bring some yellow and brighten that black.  A couple silk leaves (I learned from Youtube to wrap the stems around a paint brush - really adds interest)  then a Tim Holtz rosette with a pretty cut out from the collection  Then, I needed just a touch to break up that rosette/leave area - rumple ribbon in simply black to the rescue!.
Hope you have a great day, Christine!!!

Stop over to the LoveBug page to see my co-team members beautiful creations, too!

Happy Birthday, Handsome

That special guy in my life is celebrating his birthday this week.  I traded with a former design team member a while ago for some cricut 'staches.  I have been just waiting for the right card!  Well, his birthday was exactly the time for it.  She so kindly sent me black, brown and grey... I thought he might shoot me if I used the grey!!!

I used a sheet from My Mind's Eye Oxford paper pack.  These have become my go to for boy cards.  I layered on some of that awesome Momma's Mesh from Love Bug Creations in Beary Brown and a little piece of burlap.  I wanted a good manly card and those two textures really gave that effect.
To finish it off, I added a scrap (can't waste any!!!) of the mesh to the sentiment layer, as well.
