French Country Treat Bag

So this week, a boy made dinner for me!  Long story short - once upon a time I dated a nutcase who wouldn't let me in his home.  Since then, I don't give up the good stuff until I see the house.
So, the current gnetleman asked me - oh so tenderly.... ummmm, when?  I said, I must see your home.  This was Sunday... he made us dinner Tuesday!  LOL
I knew he went to a lot of trouble planning and cooking so I wanted to take him a little treat ( a martini shaker - he doesn't drink them, but he makes them for me.  I rightly guessed he didn't own one....he does now!)
You know I love a decked out bag for gifts, and he was no exception.
That layer of black Momma's Mesh really helps to keep it masculine, don't ya think!  And of course a little red rumple, too!

Pretty bags

I just love pretty gift bags.  For me, the making of the bag is part of the gift itself.  Remember the boat card from a few weeks ago - this is the gift bag that went with it.  The parents are from India, but their little bundle was born here in Chicago... so I bought him a little Cubs outfit.  Regardless of his heritage - he is a Chicago Native too.
I used a doily, which I almost never do for boys, but a baby can handle it :) Another one of those dimensional stickers.  That was layered on some paper from my stash. Then I made a super fun bow out of Momma's Mesh and secured it with some Caddy Blue Rumple Ribbon Get yours here

More Shower Lovin

I warned you there would be more shower pretties coming.  This is the gift bag I made for baby Izzy's present.  One of these days I will learn to make the bag AFTER I buy the gift.
However, the way I managed to shove all those cute clothes in this tiny bag earned me some very high packing praise ;)
For this I used the G45 Little Darlings paper and some 3D embellies I found at Tuesday Morning.
I added some Rumple Ribbon, of course and I thought the green is a much better contrast that using pink.  Pick up your own at www.lovebugcreations.net
Thanks for stopping by!

Parsian Pretty

I just love to make a little treat even more special for a friend. For this one I coordinated a card and a gift bag to show someone special she is worth it!! I found the Carte Bella line last year and have just loved using this Paris Girl collection for friends.

Bag of Herbs

Not that kind of herbs - people!
My garden is doing really well and I had to pinch back the herbs to keep them going. That means, I have plenty to share.
I whipped up these little bags out of every day lunch bags. Some echo park happy days paper pack. A 'From My Garden' stamp and punch on top of some simple coordinating paper made the presentation a bit nicer than a pile of baggies. ;)

Lovely Bags Week

I have been on a bag kick this weekend. Friday was a special anniversary of sorts so I made a treat for the guy that has been eating up my crafty time ;)
Hand made treats for men are really difficult for me. Since we met at a symphony concert I made music the theme.
Starting from the bottom was a nice scalloped red liner from paper source. I layered black and striped paper to form the background. The rounded edges of black and red embossed with a music sheet topped with a scalloped edge and a great black felt ribbon.
A simple stamped piece of music on pink to kind of lighten up a bit.
I tied some black and white twine and tied in a wire heart to make it feel sweet.
For the card, I really wanted it to coordinate but not be a duplicate.
On the top is a Love stamp embossed and punched in a circle layered on a great nestabilitie die. I can't remember where the heart paper came from but I layered it on black and rounded those edges, too. That same felt was repeated and a couple big pretty hearts popped on for more sweetness.

Gift Bag for a Party Girl

My dear friend lost her mind.  She decided to throw a birthday sleep over for her ten year old daughter.  She agreed to have 9 other 10year old's sleep over… in addition to her 3 year old, 7 year old and a friend of the 7 year old.  She is NUTS!  She called me in near tears and said “Katie, I need you, please say you will come help.”  You can’t tell crazy no… so I hopped on a train on a working Saturday… to ‘help’.
I was in charge of the craft project and will show that in a later post.  But here I have the gift bag I made for the birthday girl.  Just a simple pink bag I dressed up a bit.
I started by cutting a piece of black card stock to the width of the bag and used a pretty ek success edger for a lacey effect.  Next I layered on a fun pink zebra sheet of Recollections patterned paper topped off with a great piece of rose ribbon trim that was a gift from a crafty friend.
I have such a crush on pendants right now and couldn’t resist adding one for her on this bag.  I used a Stampin Up punch and embossed her name in silver.  I just love that effect.  The silver embossing powder comes out almost like a silver leaf effect.  Because I like her so much I took the time to add little eyelets so the black twine wouldn’t wear the holes thin.
Once the banner was on I started on a little treat.  I have some bottle caps with a pin back and thought if I made a cute one she could put it on a back pack or something.  I had a pink zebra push pin (don’t act surprised… I have more animal print than is legal in some states).  I chopped the back off of that and used it as the bottom layer in the cap.  Next I added a star shaped button and quite a few little clear and silver beads that don’t show up too well in the photo.  Once I had everything I wanted in the bottle cap I filled it up with glossy accents.  When it dried I took one large ribbon flower (same great friend) and pinned the cap on so she could remove it later.
I really wanted the bag to look finished and planned so I added a layer of black tulle in with the pink tissue.  I think the bottle cap was more of a hit than the actual gift!
