Happy Birthday Connie!!!

Time for another Creative Team Birthday card!!  This one will actually get in the mail, I swear!!  Connie is a super talented crafter who is also going to school.  I just love her facebook post/vents about homework and studying!!   Hope you have a great day, Beautiful!!

I used some hoarded Webster's pages paper, one of my favorite Kanban stamps, swirlled on pearl pen and of course you can't go wrong with I Love Grunge Rumple Ribbon.  Stop on by Connie's blog to leave some birthday love!

Back to My Swapping Way

I have really missed the swaps over at Your Paper Pantry and am so excited to have a little down time these days.  This month I signed up for a few, including the Pocket for your Thoughts.  I just love these.  Sometimes I use them in mini albums or as gift card holders - sometimes just to look at!
Of course, I featured the beautiful Rumple Ribbon from Lovebug Creations - here shown in Olive You.
The pocket is made from a manilla folder and measures about 5x7.  I covered it with Echo Park's Victorian Garden collection.  Pics below and the video can be seen here

I also had some glass top paper clips that coordinated from Tuesday Morning - I love how the rumple ribbon pulls out the green and adds that super soft look to hold the dress form tag on the edge here.

The inserts are a variation of digis I found on pinterest, ephemera from my stash, a journal tag from Webster's Pages and tags I found at Home Goods.

Cards in Envy Sketch#2

First Monday of the month...time for a card sketch challenge at Cards in Envy... Please join us, we would love to have you! Remember the only rule is that the card fit in an A2 envelope with no extra postage...perfect for your OWH box! Such a simple sketch, leaves room for the paper to really shine. I selected a pretty sheet from websters pages. Used a Martha corner punch with a half back pearl. The ribbon is from Paper Bag Lady on Etsy all layered on a pretty black doily. So hope you can make a card, post it and send it on to Operation Write Home. Photobucket

Rock My World

Webster's Pages, really rocks my paper world. The 6x6 paper pack had the globe here in the corner and I have been trying to think of a way to make this really pop. Until I realized I could cut it out and use it like a stamped image did a sketch come to me. The Stampin Up You Rock My World seems a great sentiment for someone from so far away. I really tried to keep it on the masculine side and thought bringing in that striped paper helped with that. And a bit of a chain border punch for fun down that st

rip. And something I rarely do, but really like here, I stamped the sentiment on a solid matching paper.

Blue Cards for March

Blue was the color tonight.  No particular reason – except I am out of white A2 envelopes.  I ordered another 1000 yesterday, but they aren’t here yet…slackers!  One of the clocks you will recognize from the OWH set Hero Arts has out now.  The long grandfather style one is a favorite stamp of mine, but I don’t remember where I found it.  The background papers are Webster’s pages.  You know you are a lucky girl when your scrap bin has Webster’s Pages!!  I made two of each of these for the OWH box.

Wax Paper Resist

I am STILLLLL not a grandmother.  So, I went to visit my parents for the weekend.  My mom and I stayed up til 1am watching You Tube videos.  (Can someone resend me that number for that 12 step program...we are going to need it soon).  We LOVE LOVE LOVED this techniqe by Gina K here.  Essentially, you emboss waxed paper, iron that on to glossy card stock - where you have stamped an image.  Then ink it up.  Wipe off the excess.  What is left is a beautiful vintage, warm and really unique look.
I used the dress form from Stampin UP and the Paper Studio script embossing folder.  I inked on Tim's tea dye and a color box pink I had.  That beautiful background paper is from a Websters Pages 6x6 pack.  The inside just needed a little floral spray that I accented with my copics.
Between a card class with my mom this morning and my crafty time tonight, 18 more cards for OWH.  This box is ready to go out to Kris.

......Still no baby, did I mention that???

Low Key Night - good for OWH

Well, we are T-13 to baby!!  Little bit of a scare last night but today my daughter, soon to be known as Mommy, is still bakin' a baby boy.  I need to be ready to go at a moment's notice.  I reluctantly cancelled some plans for this evening to tidy the house, get laundry ready - all those things you need to do to leave home for a good week at least.
Of course, that meant I would spend at least some time in my craft room.  I don't want to start a big project like a mini so I thought I would work on a few cards for OWH.  The box now has nine new cards each with a pretty different feel.  I leafed through a stamping magazine til I saw something I liked and dug through my goodies to find the right paper or stamp to recreate it.

Some My Mind's Eye papers and a pretty Stampin Up image left by buddy, Lori.

Next, some lovely layers where I tried to show case another Stampin Up image, random solids and a little it of echo park paper.  This one I embossed.

Purple and spring time!!  Background is stamped with a script in versa mark with perfect pearls brushed on.  I also spritzed on a bit of vanilla smooch to make it shimmer.  This purple seam binding came to me in a pack of ribbon I bought on etsy from The paper bag lady.  I paid 5 dollars for 15 generous yards of mixed ribbon.  Every one she sent was a keeper!
This last one is a showcase of paper.  The websters pages sheet shown here didn't need much at all.  I added a bit more with a border punch and inked paper flowers to make the inside feel pretty, too.
