Valentine Series

My daughter's married name is Kee, so she is a sucker for romantic keys - of course that means I am, too. This one has a pretty doily to keep it company. I really enjoyed working with these little images and hope to find another sheet like this for next year.

Love Cards Don't you?

Simple card to showcase a simple sentiment. I like the focus of the sentiment here and the layers of paper with ribbon to add that pop. Hope you do, too.

Valentine Series Puppy Card

I found a sheet of 1.5x2.5 little valentine images like you would trade in school. All on one 12x12 sheet at Michaels. For the next few days I am going to show each one. They are simple, but when the image is the same size I like how the sketch kind of shows through. Stay tuned and let me know which is your favorite!!

Valentine Notes

Just a note to say Happy Valentines!! I embossed that great vellum with a music note folder from Paper Studio. When the scalloped oval was punched for the sentiment, I realized you kind of see through it. So I used the little lable punch from SU to layer the sentiment. I like the little touch of color behind the opening. Twelve of these went into the box for OWH Valentines.

Sweet Cards

This card has one little banner across the middle that came to me in a swap last year. I think these MME papers and the Nesties matting really lets is shine. Just one of these for OWH this year.

Owl Puns - I so love them

I embossed a great weight of vellum with a SU folder and stamped the punny sentiment in the corner. Then I ran a TH tea dye ink pad over the owl to make him pop. Next I added brads for his eyes. All of this set on a beautiful damask DP made for 10 great cards for OWH heros to tell someone at home they are loved. Photobucket

Light Me UP!

One more of those little squares from the 12x12 sheet I found at Michaels. This one has layers, a ribbon to tie the pattern paper and embossed piece togehter. I love the black doilies and used some gold jelly roll on the image to make that portion shine.

I have gotten a lot of mileage out of this My Mind's Eye paper pack. This card came together quickly with a sketch from Mojo Monday. Photobucket

Valentine Bling

What girl doesn't like a little sparkle in February? I worked this weekend on filling the Valentine box for OWH. We have to have our cards to shippers by end of the year so our heros have in time to get back to the states. I think someone's sweetheart will enjoy this one.

Pink Masking

Masking is a technique used to only allow a portion of the surface to take the stamp/color/treatment. Lots of great Youtubes out there on how to do this well. Just a note...the 2.5" stampin up circle punch does not punch acetate...mine is in the freezer hoping it pulls in a bit to release the acetate. Direct to paper stamping is always stressful for me, but for a clean and simple card - it can't be beat. Photobucket

Happiness Cards

Tonight I worked on an altered frame for a swap, made some flowers, spent a little time on my desk calendar I have been making and finished off the night with three pretty cards.
I have had this cherry blossom mulberry paper for ages but it felt like an odd theme for OWH cards.  But, I used a 50% off coupon to pick up the Fiskars Background Asian Inspired Clear Stamps set I have been wanting.
A tag punched with my Stampin Up punch, great satin ribbon, embossed character and the word happiness all finished off with some strategically placed half back pearls.  I didn't forget the inside either and shared one of the stamps there.  Three more cards for the box.
