Pretty Congratulations

I just can't tell you happy I am to have found these card kits by Anna Griffin... When I need a special card these are my go to pieces.  The way they layer and all coordinate make the cards look so finished and artful, in a very quick... run out the door kind of time!!  Seriously, this card took me less than 3 minutes start to finish!!
I have made so many of them, I am finally starting to see where other products, like Butterbee Scraps metal fits right in.  And of course, every special girl deserves some bling on her big day.

Father's Day on My Mind's Eye

My Mind's Eye paper pack was the inspiration for this set of pretty cards. I don't do as many of the masculine cards as some. But I sure do try for Father's Day. My brother lives in Wyoming and is a real old cowboy. This horse stamp had me thinking of him. I think these are the kinds of cards that one of his four boys just might give to dad. Photobucket

Love Cards Don't you?

Simple card to showcase a simple sentiment. I like the focus of the sentiment here and the layers of paper with ribbon to add that pop. Hope you do, too.

Valentine Series Puppy Card

I found a sheet of 1.5x2.5 little valentine images like you would trade in school. All on one 12x12 sheet at Michaels. For the next few days I am going to show each one. They are simple, but when the image is the same size I like how the sketch kind of shows through. Stay tuned and let me know which is your favorite!!

I made the sketch samples!!!

This style look familiar to you??? I made the sample cards for the sketch challenge at Operation Write Home this week!! I uses sketches all the time, they are a great way to use more than one patterned paper like from one of those sweet little 6x6 stacks. Have a new stamp... look through the sketches to find one with an image that size and you are off! It was silly how intimidated I was doing these knowing that they were going to be on the blog eventually. Hope you can use them - leave me a comment/link/pick of yours! http://operationwritehome.org/sketch-challenge-146/

Vintage Tree

Photobucket
Me and pinterest will keep those heros in cards for sure!! The Pinterest one was oriented a little different and had bling, which I left off. And I added the piece with the border punch. On that piece of white core paper, I also ran the score lines just behind the punched border. Then I sanded it to show that core. I thought that really added to the vintage feel and I love to show off a white core. Four of these for the OWH box.

Red Ornament

This is a simple embossed front layered on red. With the Ornament Keepsakes collection to cut the shape. Any color layer and ribbon/die cut - this classic card could be used a hundred times over.

Coordinated Day

World Card Making Day and I made over 50 cards. Some for gifts but most for Operation Write Home. I was on a roll with the color scheme, but I think for a big day that makes the process go more quickly. And I am totally sold on the coordination for gift sets.

Mid Week Throw Down

I wish I remembered to check the challenges on the OWH Blog more often. This week was a thinking of you card. I happened to have CAS'd one from Pinterest this week. I love how pretty this is. It will be just as nice in the spring with pink/green/yellow. I made 6 of these for the OWH box this week.

Layered Top Notes

This card is super simple, layered topnotes for the image (fro SU Serene Sillouette), layered punches for a sentiment, and a pretty satin ribbon. Five of these for a soldier to send a kiss home.

The art...er craft, of the CASE

CASE - Copy And Steal Everything... I do this a lot.. A WHOLE LOT! When I buy a new stamp set I go to Split Coast Stamper's AMAZING gallery for inspiration. Or Pinterest... also known as where I am at 4:45 at work ;)
I bought a new (ok a couple new) sets from Stampin Up this month and went on my usual quest. Which led me to this super cool card on Pinterest -

Except... I didn't have twine and after I embossed the paper, stamped and embossed the image, I realized by circle punch wouldn't go in the page like the example. So I used a nestie...only I didn't have a round one. And I had these great tags and I am not super crazy about sentiments stamped and embossed over. So I added that, too. I think it looks good. Seven of these to the OWH Box

So good, I turned it sideways, added the swirly ornament and did it again...six times for OWH!!
