Pinteresting...

Yet again. I used a card from pinterest as the inspiration to make a birthday card for this weekend.
I used My Mind's Eye for the peach/orange layers and Miraposa is that butterfly everyone knows. And goodies from my two favorite etsy shops - all the trim and that amazing black half back pearl trim from Paper Bag Lady. Those big amazing velvet BoBunny flowers? Closeoutgirl Stampin up punches and stamps & gold smooch Martha's butterfly punch Recollection's black flourish and big pearl brad from the bridal section Gold brad from My Mind's Eye The inside sentiment is from My Favorite Things
Here is the card that inspired me tonight:

Merci for Pinterest

Remember those steps I gave you on CASing a Pinterest card a few days ago? I did it again! This has a subtle polkadot backround so the image just went right on there with the 'merci' stamp and some pretty bling. Very Vanilla seam binding and coorinating papers. I added some fleur di les on the inside and three of these for soldiers who seem to always be in need of thank you cards. Though, honestly, we need to be telling them Thank YOU instead!!

The art...er craft, of the CASE

CASE - Copy And Steal Everything... I do this a lot.. A WHOLE LOT! When I buy a new stamp set I go to Split Coast Stamper's AMAZING gallery for inspiration. Or Pinterest... also known as where I am at 4:45 at work ;)
I bought a new (ok a couple new) sets from Stampin Up this month and went on my usual quest. Which led me to this super cool card on Pinterest -

Except... I didn't have twine and after I embossed the paper, stamped and embossed the image, I realized by circle punch wouldn't go in the page like the example. So I used a nestie...only I didn't have a round one. And I had these great tags and I am not super crazy about sentiments stamped and embossed over. So I added that, too. I think it looks good. Seven of these to the OWH Box

So good, I turned it sideways, added the swirly ornament and did it again...six times for OWH!!

OSW - reworked

I love the One Sheet Wonders... who doesn't? Take your favorite piece of DP and make 10 or 12 cards out of it. I haven't really done a lot with it, because...well, to be honest, a lot of them don't look finished. A lot of the cards made with these are really simple. And I am over simple cards ;)
But I keep looking on pintrest and find ones like this...I found on pintrest
I had started scrolling through Pinterest looking for ideas for a card gift set. Something to give to a gal that would have several different

sentiments. At first, I was just making an extra when I made my OWH cards and tossed one aside for this boxed set project.... but I knew I wanted something more cohesive.
Then it occurred to me, I could use this OSW and just pick one of my favorite 6x6 paper packs - the light bulb went on.
I just love this pack from Theresa Collins - Carolina Breezes. I really like how the yellow, grey and black all play to make a pretty set. I tried to repeat a couple themes... nature (flowers and butterflies) and whimsy (shoes and buttons) as well as reusing the same stamps between the cards and tags.
I like this idea so much that I am going to make some for my own stash with a 6x6 stack I love too much to use ;)
The box is my new fav from Split Coast Stampers. I had to alter it a bit, the cards were too thick for the pocket with the envelopes so I just added a band on the lower flap for the envelopes to slip in.
