Throwin' Down a Pun

I haven't participated much in the OWH challenges lately.  But since I am gearing up to support my son in law's deployment I thought I would check them out.  Just so happens the Mid Week Throw Down on writehome.org/starsandstamps/">The Stars and Stamps Blog is puns!! One of my favorites!!
I made this card with the MME Sunshine 6x6 stack, that I plan to show you over the next week or so.
I cut the 'staches with a sizix die and layered away.

I CASED the Boss... uh oh

  She isn't my boss for real.  But Sandy Allnock is the president and force behind Operation Write Home.  We have all kinds of challenges and blog hops or skips on the Stars and Stamps blog  (Where yours truly is a Featured Card Maker this week - wahoo).  This past weekend was National Scrapbooking Weekend (There really is a day for everything)  We were Rebels and made cards for heros to send home to their loved ones instead.  Actually, I went to a birthday party, had a mini weekend away with that current distraction ;)  and helped host a baby shower for brother and sister in law.  Seems, I just couldn't fit in a challenge blog hop.

However, the challenges are still up and I am still making cards.  This one was a sketch challenge.  I have such a crush on owls when I saw Sandy used an owl in hers, I was inspired to make my own owl card.

You can see here I have used the striped paper that is on the reverse of that great Paris ticket paper in the G45 Curtian Call stack.  Another of the challenges was to use something you hoard.  I think we all hoard that G45 paper.  Two challenges and 4 more cards for the box.

Paper Ribbon

Over at Operation Write Home's blog we had a tutorial for paper ribbons.  They looked so cute I just had to try.  I liked the idea that I have a lot more paper colors than ribbons.  Check out the tutorial here for directions.
This card came together pretty quickly, some pretty Mind's Eye papers, inked within an inch.  Big Fiskars sentiment, that always seems so right for our Heros and a couple big pretty pearl bling.
