Welcome to my blog, your next stop on the annual Operation Write Home Memorial Day Blog Hop!! To learn more about why I have let this hobby be a near obsession - click here for details.
This year we are loading cards made with sketches. I asked a group of crafty friends to pick a number and 59 came up first.
I stuck pretty true to the sketch adding only a sentiment (buggy puns from My Pink Stamper) and a ribbon on the strip of crumb cake topped on some great My Mind's Eye paper. I have only just started to play with the Pearl Pen and I think the effect on the butterfly and the dots on the ribbon are nice bright touch.
The focal image is made by gluing one butterfly (shadow image from Give A Hoot Cricut cartridge) to a bright white piece and running that in an embossing folder through the cuttlebug.
The finished butterfly is on some pop dots to give a nice dimension and focus.
Here is what the sketch originally called for. If you are new to card making or low on mojo - sketches are great way to light a fire!!
